After the surprising snowfall yesterday, it may seem farfetched to look ahead at summer activities, but it is time to look forward to sunnier days.
Submissions for a local outdoor arts showcase held every summer are due on Saturday.
Art in the Park, an annual downtown Kamloops event, will be held July 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Riverside Park in conjunction with Canada Day.
Local art merchants are joined in the park to celebrate Canada's birth with international food booths, performances and fireworks following in the evening.
According to the event's website, an estimated 30,000 head down to the park for the festivities that have occurred in Kamloops for over 30 years.
Those interested in participating in Art in the Park can apply directly online or print out the application and mail it or drop it off at the Kamloops Arts Council office, 7 West Seymour St.
Applications for performers and community groups for the day will be available later this month and can be found online.
