Homicide team probing ‘targeted’ death in North Vancouver

VANCOUVER – Homicide detectives say they are investigating after a man was found dead in a home in North Vancouver, B.C.

Police say RCMP officers were called Friday night after the 30-year-old man's body was discovered in an apartment.

The Integrated Homicide Investigations Team was called in when the death was deemed suspicious and they have taken the lead on the case.

The victim has been identified as Gavinder Grewal, who police say was associated with gang activity.

The Integrated Homicide Investigations Team says in a release that Grewal's death is believed to be targeted and linked to other gang violence in the Lower Mainland.

Cpl. Frank Jang says there are people who knew Grewal who may have information that could help police solve the homicide, and they are encouraged to contact police.
