Swiss skip Mirjam Ott leads women at Masters Curling with 3-0 record

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Mirjam Ott of Switzerland improved to 3-0 at the Masters Grand Slam of Curling on Thursday.

She defeated Evita Regza of Latvia 7-3 in the morning draw and sits alone atop the women’s standings.

Anna Sidorova of Russia and Margaretha Sigfridsson of Sweden are tied for second at 2-0. They both had the morning off.

There are seven skips tied at 1-1, including Winnipeg’s Chelsey Carey, who defeated American Erika Brown in the only other women’s game in the early draw.

On the men’s side, Glenn Howard of Coldwater, Ont., Kevin Koe of Calgary, Sven Michel of Switzerland and Winnipeg’s Jeff Stoughton are tied for first at 2-0.

Koe defeated Rasmus Stjerne of Denmark 10-7 in Draw 6 while Stoughton edged Thomas Ulsrud of Norway 7-5.

Toronto’s John Epping slipped to 1-2 with a 7-5 loss to Niklas Edin of Sweden.
