Homan downs Carey 5-1, advances to quarter-finals at Grand Slam of Curling

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Ottawa’s Rachel Homan downed Winnipeg’s Chelsea Carey 5-1 in a tiebreaker at the Masters Grand Slam of Curling on Saturday morning to move into the women’s quarter-finals.

Homan scored two points in the third end, one point in the fifth, and two more in the seventh to seal the victory.

Carey put up her single point in the sixth end.

Homan’s team will play Heather Nedohin of Sherwood Park, Alta., in the quarter-finals later on Saturday.
