Quick quotes of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, then and now

TORONTO – Toronto Mayor Rob Ford talked on his weekly radio show Sunday about some controversies involving him that he’s spoken about before, though not in quite the same terms. Here’s a comparison of just what’s been said on two of those controversies:

On the video that two media outlets have said allegedly show him smoking what appears to be crack cocaine.

May 24: “I cannot comment on a video that I have never seen or does not exist.”

Nov 3: “Whatever this video shows, folks, Toronto residents deserve to see and people need to judge for themselves what they see on this video.”

____

On reports that he was drunk at the Taste of the Danforth street festival in August 2013.

Aug 11: “I drove myself down there, I was not drinking. I went out, had a few beers and I did not drive home. My people met me after that.”

Nov 3: “That was pure stupidity. I shouldn’t have got hammered down at the Danforth. If you’re going to have a couple drinks you stay home, and that’s it. You don’t make a public spectacle of yourself.”
