Massive fire engulfs abandoned restaurant in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – Emergency crews are on scene in Kamloops for a massive structure fire at an abandoned restaurant in the Aberdeen area.

Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Edward Preto says in a news release that police were called at approximately 5:23 p.m. this evening, Jan. 5, for traffic control.

Kamloops Fire Rescure responded to a fully engulfed structure fire of an abandoned restaurant at the north west corner of Hugh Allan Drive and Pacific Way, Preto says.

RCMP are asking the public to avoid the area as traffic is very congested.

A witness says the structure is the old Brass Kettle restaurant.
