Masked man used gun to rob Kamloops store

KAMLOOPS – A man wearing a ski mask used a semi-automatic pistol to rob a local business last night, police say.

Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Ed Preto offered few details in a release today, Jan. 8, but said they are looking for a white man with a medium build who was dressed all in black. He wouldn't say which business was robbed but said it was at 253 Tranquille Road.

Police said they responded to a 911 call at 8:19 p.m. saying the man demanded money from the cash register.

"The employee at the location complied and the suspect departed the location on foot, stealing an undisclosed sum of money," he said.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8277.
