Serious crash closes Highway 97 south of Peachland

Emergency crews are on the scene of a serious car crash on Highway 97 south of Peachland and traffic is backing up this afternoon.

Traffic both northbound and southbound are badly congested, RCMP said in a media release.

Police said the highway will reopen as soon as the scene of the crash at Brent Road, about two kilometres south of Peachland, is processed by investigators and advise the travelling public to expect lengthy delays.

DriveBC said there's a detour available via the 201 Forest Service Road.

RCMP didn’t released any information about the collision including if there were any injuries or deaths.
