KELOWNA – The Chiefs faced off against the Steam in Summerland Sunday afternoon, skating away with a 4 – 3 win.
The Steam opened up scoring in the first period with a quick goal from Paulsen Lautard. The Chiefs continued to fight and at 3:45 Jagger Bowles (1G, 1A) scored on the powerplay. Summerland would net one more only seconds later.
In the second period, Lautard extended the Steam’s lead and despite a goal from Nick Josephs (2G, 2A) with the Chiefs, Kelowna was still down 3 – 2.
The Chiefs turned it all around in the third period with Josephs netting his second of the night and Nicholas Kovacik (1G, 1A) scoring the game winner at 2:44.
Connor DeMelo was between the pipes once again, facing 38 shots, while Chiefs starting goaltender Tyler O’Donnell remains sidelined due to an injury.
Next up for the Kelowna Chiefs is a road game in Princeton on October 1st.
