Actor Andrew Lincoln: ‘Walking Dead’ battles scenes, shot in Atlanta, a high point of career

ATLANTA – For Andrew Lincoln, acting out the battle scenes in downtown Atlanta during the first season of “The Walking Dead” was a joyous time.

Four blocks of downtown Atlanta were shut down, and the British actor rode into the city on horseback, firing his guns at hordes of zombies known as “walkers.”

In an interview not far from where that scene was filmed, Lincoln describes the epic battle scene as one of the greatest moments of his career.

The 40-year-old actor discussed the show and his career just after participating in a panel discussion at the inaugural Walker Stalker Convention that was inspired by the AMC show.

Lincoln says it feels as if there’s a “golden age” of storytelling on TV these days, and he’s enjoying every moment of it.
