Woman found dead in Vernon home; no criminality suspected

A woman was found dead in a Vernon home more than a week ago and today RCMP released information about her death to the public.

The woman was found deceased inside a home in the 5500 block of Heritage Drive at approximately 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, according to an RCMP media release issued today, June 5.

RCMP said a “full and comprehensive investigation” was conducted by officers with the serious crimes unit.

“As a result of that investigation, no evidence was found to suggest any criminality was involved in her death,” the release read.

The woman’s identity will not be released “out of respect for privacy,” RCMP said.

Police offered condolences to the woman’s family and friends.
