Lemonade stands around B.C. raising funds for Kelowna charity today

People around B.C. are setting up lemonade stands today to help out families of patients at Kelowna General Hospital.

Today is the third Good Lemonade Day. It’s a charity event where the money raised by participating lemonade stands goes to JoeAnna’s House, a home away from home for people who have family members receiving care at Kelowna General Hospital.

JoeAnna's House is owned and operated by the KGH Foundation.

Most lemonade stands participating in the fundraiser are going to be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and all Prestige Hotels and Resorts locations in B.C. are participating from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the fundraiser’s site.

The cut-off to register a lemonade stand with the event was on May 10, but JoeAnna’s House accepts donations all year long.

Participating lemonade stands received t-shirts, some lemonade mix, a sign, and balloons.
