SURREY, B.C. – Police say the four men arrested Friday after a fatal shooting in Surrey, B.C., have been charged with first-degree murder.
Surrey RCMP say investigators believe the shooting was targeted even though the victim had no history of police contact.
Police say 28-year-old Yuvraj Goyal was found dead in a residential area in south Surrey after officers were called to the area to investigate a shooting Friday morning.
They say four suspects in their early 20s were arrested hours after the shooting, when a vehicle fire was reported in another part of south Surrey and triggered a "quick co-ordinated response."
Officers say a co-ordinated search by Surrey RCMP, Air 1 and the Lower Mainland's emergency response team led to the arrests.
Homicide investigators are asking anyone with information or who may have been in the area of the shooting Friday to contact police.
