More road closures for rock slide, vehicle incident

Winter weather continues to run roughshod over area highways.

The Coquihalla is closed 3.5 km south of Merritt to northbound traffic this morning as highways crews deal with a rockslide. The southbound lane was earlier closed but has since reopened. The area was also under a snowfall advisory this weekend. The Ministry of Transportation says it's doing a geotechnical assessment and will update at 9 a.m.

Meanwhile, Highway 1 is also closed in both directions because of a vehicle incident two km east of Lytton.
