Skateboarders vandalize 14 vehicles in Kelowna

KELOWNA – Two men used skateboards to vandalize more than a dozen vehicles in the Pandosy area early this morning.

Shortly after midnight Jan. 23 RCMP were called to Ethel Street and Glenwood Avenue with a report that two men dressed in black were hitting side mirrors with skateboards.

As many as 14 vehicles were damaged, according to Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“RCMP officers contained the area and called in a police canine to assist with a search,” he says. “The K9 picked up a track, which led our officers through a trail of smashed vehicle mirrors and knocked over garbage bins to the area of Cameron Park, before it disappeared.”

Vehicle owners in the area, who discover damage to their vehicles, should call the Kelowna RCMP non-emergency line at 250-762-3300.

Anyone with any information, including the identity of the males involved is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. Or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
