A man suspected of three robberies in the Okanagan is in custody after ramming into a police cruiser in a stolen vehicle on New Years Day in Kamloops.
Police responded to reports about 10 p.m. last night when a man was seen smashing vehicle windows with a baseball bat in Sahali.
The man tried to flee the scene when he hit the front end of a police cruiser, barely missing another. He hit a pole and drove half of a kilometre before stopping and being arrested.
Police determined the vehicle was reported stolen in Enderby, B.C. and the driver is believed to be responsible for a series of thefts over the last four days including a grocery store in Armstrong as well as a liquor store and dollar store in Enderby.
The man remains in custody and faces multiple charges for the incidents both in Kamloops and throughout the North Okanagan.
