Kelowna sex shop offers reward for tips leading to armed robbers

'WE'RE NOT GOING TO LET A COUPLE PUNKS SHUT US DOWN'

KELOWNA – The owner of an adult store in Kelowna is looking for a woman she says was in her store the day before an armed robbery.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22, two men entered Wild Kingdom on Lawrence Avenue. A media release from Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says their faces were covered and one had a gun.

They bound the female employees' hands and locked them in the bathroom before fleeing with cell phones, sex toys and cash.

Wild Kingdom owner Kim Williams is offering a reward for information about the woman who she believes may have information about the robbery.

She asks anyone who might know who she is to call the store at 250-868-9033.

RCMP Cpl. O’Donaghey says there is "nothing to indicate that the woman is involved," but that could change as the investigation progresses.

"We have no images to release of the suspects at this time," he says in an email.

RCMP ask businesses in the vicinity to review surveillance footage that may have caught the suspects before or after the robbery and anyone with information should call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.

Williams says her employees were frightened by the experience but are "doing well."

"We’re not going to let a couple punks shut us down," she says.
