Easy being green: Saskatchewan premier declares special day to boost Roughriders
REGINA – Saskatchewan’s premier is urging Roughrider fans to show support for their football team in advance of the Grey Cup this weekend.
Brad Wall has declared this Friday “Green Day” and is encouraging the Rider Nation to wear the team’s primary colour.
Wall says he received several requests after the Riders won the CFL western final to declare a public holiday, but he didn’t have the authority to do that.
The Grey Cup matchup on Sunday features the Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats playing at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.
Seats for the game are in high demand and RCMP are warning the public about a ticket scam.
Police in North Battleford and Saskatoon are investigating after a fraudster placed a classified ad offering tickets, but didn’t come through with them once people paid for them.
