Kamloops RCMP looking for woman using counterfeit U.S. cash

KAMLOOPS – Police in Kamloops are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who has been using counterfeit $50 U.S. bills at local businesses.

The female has targeted three different businesses over the past week according to a Kamloops RCMP press release today, Jan. 30.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, and approximately 5’6”. A week ago, she was seen with blonde and blue hair, but a few days ago she was seen with black hair and wearing glasses, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says. She carries a black handbag with silver studs or grommets on one side.

“Kamloops RCMP reminds all businesses to review counterfeit detection techniques with their employees,” Shelkie says in the press release. "As well, let employees know it is within their right to refuse any cash payment if they suspect it might be counterfeit."
