Nations’ Native youth get connected next week

By Shannon Quesnel

Hundreds of Native youth are getting physical next week at the 2013 Gathering Our Voices Conference.

First Nations students from across Canada will be at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre from Tuesday to Friday. The event is hosted by the B.C. Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres and the Ooknakane Friendship Centre, and will have conferences, workshops, games and performances.

The 11th Annual Aboriginal Youth Conference will cover health, language, culture, environment, employment, sports and recreation. There will be a career and education fair where students, aged 14 to 24, can meet with potential recruiters.
