Chase RCMP investigating grocery store armed robbery

CHASE – A man with a knife held up the clerk at a store in Chase last night.

RCMP say at approximately 7:30 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 31, the clerk at the PharmaChoice Food and Drug was robbed by a man with a knife.

The suspect left got away with some cash and was last seen travelling westbound on Shuswap Avenue on a bicycle, according to an RCMP media release.

A police dog team from Kamloops helped search for the suspect but no arrest has been made.

RCMP describe the suspect as a Caucasian man, approximately 5’8” tall with an average build. He was wearing a grey hoodie, jeans and had a blue bandana covering his face.

Police have released screen captures from surveillance video of the suspect.

“The Chase RCMP Detachment has investigated three robberies in the past 10 days. Investigations show these events are unrelated and committed by different, unconnected suspects,” Cp. Scott Linklater says in the release.
