More snow for B.C. Interior today

A Pacific frontal system making its way through the B.C. Interior is leaving behind a fresh dump of snow today.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Shuswap and North Thompson with between 15 and 20 centimetres of snow expected today, Feb. 4. It will ease this evening.

The rest of the Thompson-Okanagan will be getting snow today, but not nearly as much.

In the Okanagan, the precipitation is forecast to change to rain this afternoon.

Most of the snow will fall in Vernon with up to 10 cm expected. Kelowna should only see about five cm, while in the South Okanagan, between two and four cm is predicted to fall.

As the snow level rises today in the Okanagan, the snow will change to rain in the afternoon.

Kamloops is expecting about five cm of snow today before it changes to flurries this afternoon.

Temperatures throughout the Thompson-Okanagan are expected to climb above the freezing mark today.
