Physicians-surgeons college suspends B.C. doctor for relationship with patient
VANCOUVER – British Columbia’s College of Physicians and Surgeons says it has suspended a doctor for two years because of a personal and sexual relationship he had with a patient.
But if Dr. Bradley Allen Fritz of Vancouver meets all the conditions of the disciplinary action, the college will shorten the suspension by six months.
The college says the relationship took place in 2004.
It says Fritz will receive a formal reprimand and be ordered to undergo counselling from an approved psychologist or psychiatrist.
He must discuss his conduct, ethics and professionalism with the college, undergo further education on the issues, and use a chaperon during sensitive examinations of female patients.
The college is governed by provincial legislation and licenses and regulates physicians and surgeons B.C.
