Kamloops RCMP seize guns following shooting

KAMLOOPS – Police have executed a search warrant at a North Shore home, and seized several firearms, following a shooting yesterday.

After a 26- year-old man was shot in the foot on Sunday, Feb. 3, Kamloops RCMP seized firearms from a home on Wilson Street and sent one of them for forensic testing to see if that was the weapon used in the crime, according to an RCMP media release.

“This will help determine if there is enough evidence to recommend charges and against whom,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie the release.

The shooting victim was transported to Royal Inland Hospital with non life-threating injuries.

Several suspects from a nearby residence were arrested shortly after the shooting.

Shelkie says the investigation remains ongoing.
