Saskatchewan, Hamilton players come out to Grey Cup thaw in Regina

REGINA – It wasn’t exactly a heat wave but players came out to plus-zero temperatures for their Grey Cup warmup at Mosaic Stadium.

Two hours before kickoff, the temperature was plus-two — although it felt like minus-four. Still snow was melting in the aisles.

A sea of green surged into the stands for the 101st CFL championship.

One of the early Saskatchewan players on the field had bare arms, and a Hamilton Ticat was wearing shorts — attire that would have been foolhardy in the frigid temperatures earlier in the week.

Celebrities on hand for the game included actor Tom Hanks.
