Chase armed robbery suspect arrested, facing charges
CHASE – A 24-year-old Chase man has been arrested in connection to an alleged armed robbery last month.
Chase RCMP Cpl. Scott Linklater says in a news release officers arrested the suspect yesterday, Feb. 7, in relation to the Jan. 21 robbery of the Chase Groceteria.
Charges of robbery while armed with an offensive weapon, disguise with intent, and failing to comply with a probation order are being recommended to Crown counsel, Linklater says.
He's also being charged with theft under $5,000 in connection to an incident at the B.C. Liquor Store in Chase on the same day.
Linklater says numerous community members came forward to provide information in this case, aiding in identifying a suspect in the alleged offence.
"The Chase community has been greatly affected by the recent robberies and the Chase detachment has treated these crimes as a priority," Linklater says. "The Chase detachment would like to thank the community for its invaluable assistance in this matter and for their patience as the police investigation progressed to support the criminal charges."
