KAMLOOPS – Weather conditions are just right for the formation of black ice on a section of the Coquihalla Highway today.

Drive B.C. has issued a travel advisory for the Coquihalla Highway between Kamloops and Merritt today, Feb. 9, thanks to black ice.

There are extended sections of black ice between the Helmer Road exit to Kamloops, Drive B.C. says. The slippery conditions are impacting the highway in both directions.

Drivers are being asked to use caution and be aware of the crews performing the ongoing maintenance on the route.
