Roughriders clean out their lockers after Grey Cup win; some may not be back

REGINA – Just days after winning the Grey Cup, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have cleaned out their lockers, knowing some players may not be back.

Star running back Kory Sheets and slotback Weston Dressler — one of quarterback Darian Durant’s favourite targets — will both become free agents in the off-season.

Other players could be lost when Ottawa starts stockpiling its roster with the CFL expansion draft.

Durant says he would like to see some key players stay in Saskatchewan, but he knows guys like Dressler and Sheets may have opportunities in the NFL.

Dressler says he would take a look at the NFL if the right opportunity presented itself.

Sheets says he’s just going to enjoy the moment with the Grey Cup win, but also says he couldn’t stop his heart from looking at the NFL if the situation is right.
