Suspect arrested after suspicious dumpster fire at Coldstream business

Police have a suspect in custody in connection to a suspicious dumpster fire near a Coldstream business earlier this month.

Officers were called to the scene of a suspicious dumpster fire at around 1 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 behind a business in the 16500 block of Kalamalka Road in Coldstream, according to an RCMP media release issued today, July 16. RCMP don't identify the business.

RCMP said investigators used video surveillance to identify a suspect.

On Sunday, July 14, police arrested a suspect and searched his home where they found evidence.

Austin Emerson Bunn, 37, is facing charges of mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order, according to court documents.

He remains in custody and will be back in court, July 17, for a bail hearing.
