Officers hit with bear spray executing search warrant in Revelstoke

Officers executing a search warrant to look for drugs at a home in Revelstoke were greeted with a blast of bear spray on Monday.

The officers were carrying out the search warrant at the home on Humbert Street, July 15, when they were assaulted with bear spray and were forced to retreat, according to an RCMP media release issued today, July 17.

The heavily-armed emergency response team was called in. A man and woman later surrendered and were arrested.

RCMP don’t say if any evidence was recovered from the home or what charges the suspects face.

Both suspects have since been released from custody with a future court date.
