WestJet adds more non-stop flights from Toronto to Kelowna this winter

Ski resorts in the Okanagan have their fingers crossed new, non-stop flights from Toronto to Kelowna will have a positive impact on the ski industry.

The WestJet Group, which includes WestJet and Sunwing Airlines, announced its winter schedule today, July 22, which includes the two new flights between Kelowna and Toronto.

WestJet said its 2024/2025 winter flight schedule reflects a capacity growth of 14% in Kelowna.

Big White Ski Resort expects the two new flights will be a benefit for the Okanagan region calling it a game changer.

“The increased capacity not only makes it easier for our guests from eastern Canada to visit but also reinforces Kelowna's status as a premier winter destination,” Big White’s Michael J. Ballingall said in a media release.

WestJet Group’s winter schedule also includes an expansion of flight to sunshine destinations.

“Our winter schedule is building on our ambitions to ensure Canadians benefit from a comprehensive network of affordable domestic air service, while providing seamless access to fulfill cold-weather escapes to the most popular sun destinations,” WestJet Group vice-president John Weatherill said in the release.

"As we bring more seats and affordable fares across our entire network, we are giving Canadians choice and flexibility this winter.”
