Crews fighting North Kamloops house, shed fire

A fire in North Kamloops sent up plumes of smoke visible across the city Tuesday morning.

It was initially called in as a landscape fire, but then involved a shed and a house before 8 a.m., July 23.

Kamloops Fire Rescue platoon captain Sheldon Guertin said there were few details available while crews were still on the scene.

The fire comes on the heels of two overnight wildfires within the city in the Rose Hill and Peterson Creek areas, both started by lightning. Crews doused those fires before the sun rose Tuesday morning.
