WEIRS BEACH, N.H. – The M/S Mount Washington has kicked off its cruise season on Lake Winnipesaukee with travel officials estimating more than 3 million people will visit New Hampshire this summer and spend $1.8 billion.
The boat made the trip Thursday with Republican Gov. Chris Sununu and other state officials on board.
The official 2018 daily cruising season for the M/S Mount Washington and her sister vessels run from May 19 until Oct. 28.
New Hampshire’s Division of Travel and Tourism Development said Memorial Day weekend is expected to draw 650,000 out-of-state travellers and generate more than $120 million in spending.
