Armstrong family escapes house fire unharmed

ARMSTRONG – The cause of a house fire in Armstrong last night is under investigation but it’s not considered suspicious in nature.

Armstrong Fire Chief Ian Cummings says firefighters arrived at the home in Highland Park shortly after 11 p.m. yesterday, Feb. 17.

He says crews quickly knocked down the fire.

The family of six was able to get out safely, but the house has significant fire, smoke and water damage.

The cause of the blaze is undetermined but Cummings says nothing looks suspicious at this time. A fire inspector is on the scene today.

A post to GoFundMe says the Munro family lost everything in the fire, and even though they are insured, money is being raised “as they start from scratch.”
