Blue Jays cut Arencibia loose; make offers to Rasmus, Cecil and Rogers

TORONTO, Cananda – Catcher J.P. Arencibia was non-tendered by the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night, making him a free agent.

The move comes hours after Toronto signed free agent catcher Dioner Navarro to a two-year deal worth US$8 million.

The Blue Jays also tendered contracts to centre-fielder Colby Rasmus, left-handed pitcher Brett Cecil and right-handed pitcher Esmil Rogers.

All three are arbitration eligible players.
