Warrant issued for violent offender considered ‘armed and dangerous’: Merritt RCMP

An arrest warrant has been issued by Merritt RCMP for a 37-year-old violent offender who is considered armed and dangerous.

Ron Karlson failed to comply with his probation and release order, according to an RCMP media released issued, Sept. 12.

Officers are searching for Karslon but until he’s in custody police are warning the public.

RCMP are asking the community to stay vigilant and to call their local police if they know where he is.

“He's considered armed and dangerous,” BC RCMP media liason officer Cpl. James Grandy said in the release.

Karlson, who has a lengthy criminal record, was arrested in November 2022 following a standoff with police at a home in the Voght Street and Priest Avenue area.

RCMP describe Karlson as a 37-year-old male, 5’9” tall, 170 lb. with black hair, brown eyes with a tattoos on his right and left hands and neck.

If you see him, or have information on his whereabouts, do not approach him. Instead, immediately call 911 or the Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262.
