Rappers and former Raptors well-represented at Game 1 of NBA Finals

TORONTO – Rappers and former Raptors were well-represented Thursday at Game 1 of the NBA Finals between Toronto and the Golden State Warriors.

Drake was in his normal courtside seat, wearing a vintage (and signed) Dell Curry Raptors jersey — honouring the father of Golden State star Steph Curry while perhaps trolling his son.

Dell Curry was one of several ex-Raptors honoured on the court in the break between the first and second quarter. The others were Muggsy Bogues, Charles Oakley, Jerome (Junkyard Dog) Williams, Tracy McGrady. Morris Peterson, Chris Bosh and Damon Stoudamire. They were joined by former Toronto GM Isiah Thomas.

Peterson went over and hugged Drake after the ceremony.

Toronto rapper Kardinal Offishall whipped up the already hyped Scotiabank Arena crowd during a timeout in the second quarter with a rendition of “The Anthem.” He then took off his top to reveal a Kyle Lowry jersey.

American rappers A$AP Ferg and E-40 were also on hand. A$AP Ferg provided the halftime entertainment wearing a No. 19 Raptors jersey and glittery silver shorts.

Golfer Bubba Watson was also in attendance.
