Raise your craft beer game with this Okanagan College course

OKANAGAN – Appreciate beer? Who needs a course to do that?

Well, you do if your taste in beer is ever to evolve beyond your college days. And that’s where Okanangan College comes in.

Award-winning brewmaster Stefan Buhl will lead a guided tasting course that’s promised to appeal to industry professionals as well as home brewers and those that are simply new to craft beer.

Buhl is a German lager and English ale specialist who has spent 17 years brewing beer for Tree Brewing in Kelowna, making him a pioneer in the local craft brewing industry.

“Craft beer was not on anyone’s radar here when I first arrived, “ Buhl says in a press release from Okanagan College. “People are much more knowledgable and interested in it now, which is great to see.”

Buhl says participants can expect a short history of beer making as well as anecdotes of the early days of craft beer making in the Okanagan Valley.

Okanagan College Continuing Studies is offering the beer appreciation course first in Vernon on March 8 and then in Kelowna March 10 and April 14.
