KAMLOOPS – Jury selection began today for a Kamloops man charged with second degree murder.
Torbin Alec faces the murder charge following the death of a Tk'emlups Indian Band member stabbed to death at a party downtown in July 2012.
RCMP and emergency services were called to the Columbia Street home around 3:30 a.m. on July 15 after the stabbing of Jesse Seymour. Seymour was taken to hospital but died soon after, succumbing to his injuries.
Alec was a friend of the Seymour family and will go to trial once a jury has been selected.
