Santa can stay behind the wheel this Christmas, says Metro Vancouver bus company

VANCOUVER – The company that operates Vancouver’s transit buses says Santa can keep his day job.

Earlier this week, the Coast Mountain Bus Company told a Vancouver-area bus driver that it was time to hang up the Santa suit he’s been wearing behind the wheel in December for many years.

The company said it was worried passengers wouldn’t be able to identify the driver, as the driver, and suggested he don a Santa hat or a festive tie instead of the jolly old elf suit.

But riders said “Bah, Humbug” to the bus company and blasted Coast Mountain for the Grinch-like move.

Now, the company has had a Whoville-sized change of heart, and says driver Kirk Rockwell will be able to continue spreading the Christmas cheer.

The company says customers have spoken.
