RCMP investigating death of woman found unresponsive in Vernon home

VERNON – Police are investigating the death of a woman found unresponsive inside her Vernon home.

Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett says police were called in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 15 for a report of a 37-year-old woman who was taken to hospital from her residence on Cordon Place in Vernon, where she subsequently passed away.

The Vernon RCMP General Investigative Section has taken over the investigation, Brett says.

“Due to the circumstances, investigators are now looking into the matter to determine if foul play was involved in her death,” Brett says in a media release.

RCMP remain on scene at Cordon Place as they continue to investigate.

The woman's name has not been released.

There is no risk to the public, Brett says.
