Kamloops RCMP investigating shots fired in Brocklehurst

KAMLOOPS – Police are investigating after another potential incident of shots being fired in the city.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Kelly Butler says police responded to a Brocklehurst area home at approximately 5 a.m. today, March 21.

"Basically we received a report that there was gunshots and explosions at a home in the 1700 block of Ord Road," Butler says.

RCMP and Kamloops Fire Rescue responded. Butler says a fire and shell casings were located in the area.

She adds that no one was home at the residence at the time. Officers and members from the forensics and identification unit are currently on scene investigating.

No one has been taken into custody in connection to this incident, Butler says.

Although there were no eyewitnesses to the incident, Butler says some resident in the area did report what they heard.

Butler adds that whatever did unfold appears to be a targeted incident, and there's no public safety risk.
