Lower Glenrosa Road remains closed while flood repairs continue

WEST KELOWNA – The portion of Lower Glenrosa Road damaged by rain last week will remain closed for several more days.

Lower Glenrosa Road has been closed between Glencoe Road and Glenway Road since torrential rain last Thursday, March 22.

Mayor Doug Findlater signed a Local State of Emergency to facilitate repairs the next day and crews were on site all weekend.

Crews are working to ensure the road’s supporting structure is stabilized and made safe for the travelling public before re-opening the road, according to a media release from the City of West Kelowna.

Motorists are asked to obey all emergency traffic signage and use Glenrosa Road as an alternate route. Transit users can access Route 21 via Webber Road. Pedestrians are asked to avoid the area while emergency repairs are underway.
