Kelowna man arrested for string of West Kelowna bank robberies

WEST KELOWNA – A 26-year-old Kelowna man has been arrested for a series of bank robberies late last year.

RCMP were called to the BMO on Gosset Road in West Kelowna shortly before 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9, 2017 after a man passed a note to a bank teller and fled with cash.

Two more West Kelowna financial institutions were targeted within days of one another, under similar circumstances and RCMP released images of the suspect, RCMP say.

“Police linked those robberies carried out on Dec. 12 and Dec. 15 and formed the belief that they were each committed by the same male suspect,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release.

The 26-year-old suspect is not named but was arrested March 20. He will appear in court at a later date.
