Man arrested in Chase after allegedly threatening to kill person, shoot police officers

CHASE – A man is facing several charges after allegedly threatening to kill a person and shoot police.

Police responded to a home on 3 Avenue in Chase yesterday, March 26, to investigate a complaint of someone making threats.

Chase RCMP Cpl. Scott Linklater says a man living at the home allegedly made threats to kill another person and shoot police if they attended.

Officers located the man at the home and placed him under arrest without incident.

During the arrest, a loaded handgun was found in the waistband of the man's pants, Linklater says.

Officers also recovered a shotgun, which had the barrel cut short and a modified stock, making it a prohibited firearm.

A 34-year-old man is facing several charges in relation to the threats and the possession of firearms. He was expected to appear in Kamloops Provincial Court today, March 27.
