Blues RW Stewart, Penguins C Crosby and Avalanche C Duchene win NHL 3 stars

NEW YORK, N.Y. – St. Louis Blues right-wing Chris Stewart is the NHL’s first star of the week.

Stewart had six goals and an assist over four games to help the Blues remain in second place in the Central Division.

He opened the week by scoring twice, his first multi-goal game of the season, in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators last Monday.

He capped the week by recording three goals and an assist, including the game-winning goal, in a 6-0 triumph over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was named the second star with two goals and six assists in four appearances as the short-handed Penguins extended their winning streak to seven games.

Colorado centre Matt Duchene took third star honours with two goals and seven assists.
