IHIT takes over North Vancouver shooting, says woman on life support

VANCOUVER – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over an investigation of a shooting in North Vancouver that sent one woman to hospital in critical condition.

The homicide team says she’s on life support.

North Vancouver RCMP say shots were fired at around 11 a.m. Tuesday in a busy area of Lonsdale Avenue, not far from Lions Gate Hospital.

RCMP say the area has been secured and there is no ongoing risk to the public stemming from this incident.

Investigators say they’re in the evidence gathering phase of the investigation and are not providing any further information at this time.

There is no word on whether any suspects have been identified.
