Canadian surveillance tech company Avigilon to buy VideoIQ for US$32 million

VANCOUVER – Avigilon Corp. of Vancouver (TSX: AVO) says it will pay US$32 million in cash to buy VideoIQ, Inc., a U.S. company with advanced real-time video analytics technology. Avigilon will initially use its global distribution network to boost VideoIQ’s sales and eventually integrate its technology into Avigilon’s own high-definition video surveillance products. The deal is expected to close in early January.
