How the City of Kamloops is encouraging residents to plant more trees

KAMLOOPS –  The city of Kamloops has announced they will be giving out tree coupons for 2018. Starting today, April 9, the city will be handing out more than 700 coupons on a first come, first serve basis.

There will be two types of coupons to choose from, one of $20 towards purchases of $100 or less or another for $50 towards trees with a subtotal of $100 or more.

Both coupons will be valid for the spring launch which starts April 9 and goes until June 15. For the summer and fall phase only the $20 coupon will be accepted from August 15 to September 30.

The coupons are an initiative put forward by city officials to help motivate tree planting around the community.

Those looking to grab a coupon can do so at city hall, the Civic and Operations Department, Parks, Recreation and Administration office from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. or at the Westsyde Pool.
