Learn more about Vernon school board candidates at upcoming forum
VERNON – A chance to learn more about your Vernon school board candidates is approaching.
The Vernon Teachers’ Association, in partnership with the District Parent Advisory Council, will hold a public forum for Vernon and Coldstream school trustee candidates on Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Vernon Secondary School Theatre.
“Teachers and parents need allies on the school board who will be strong leaders and outspoken advocates for our students, our schools, and the community,” Teachers’ Association vice president Lisa LaBoucane said in a media release.
The forum will provide a chance for candidates to share their priorities and positions on issues facing Vernon and Coldstream schools. It will also give the public an opportunity to ask questions through a moderator.
“Change starts at the ballot box,” LaBoucane said. “If parents, teachers, and informed citizens and their families vote, we can have a significant impact on our schools and our community.”
LaBoucane encourages all to attend the trustee candidate forum.
